I was told a new band director named Samuel Rowley is coming on board soon. Any of you heard anything? I heard he is a musical genius with stops at Bethune Cookman, Florida A&M & NCCU.
If the Chronicle, print edition, has their information right Alabama State is ineligible for the automatic bid to the NCAA tournament just like Southern. So, todays match-up with PV is for the automatic bid folks. We need a good crowd today. You social media types start spreading the word.
It seems a bit deceiving until you consider we were picked to finish near the very bottom prior to the season, and we have won games we would have found away to lose just a year ago. We're in unfamiliar territory at this point, but I wouldn't say winning against those teams necessarily make us...
Well guys we're at the mid-point of the season, and if you would have said before the season started we would be where we are, I would have looked at you like you just escaped from a mental ward. Don't get me wrong I expected improvement, but not this much.
It will be interesting the rest...
I was told Claiborne's injury was a knee sprain, but I have not been able to verify that. I plan on going to practice tomorrow so hopefully I'll see him out there running around.
Its good to get back in the win column, but that game was too close for comfort. Valley's defense was tougher than I anticipated, but after I took a look at their two deep roster I noticed it had a lot of upper class-men. We can thank Christophe's running ability, our defense and Valley's...
They are quiet in Itta Bena. Coach Comegy didn't say much about Texas Southern during the coaches teleconference or during his weekly press conference.
I hope our guys realize you have to come play teams that are this hungry for a win. Valley has beaten us three years in a row, and eight...

Go to the 7:30 MARK to hear Coach Barlow's comments about the TSU Tigers.

Well, I see Barlow isn't taking the team lightly despite what some would like to have us think...
I agree with your assessment that the D-line isn't providing enough of a pass rush, but I think the run defense has to improve also. We really are missing Amir Bloom. Each of the guys in the box must step their game up.
As for our opponent's game-plan, I think ASU's scheme will be to keep...

The Bulldogs a have team largely made up of freshman. They start a senior at quarterback and have upper class-man playing in defensive backfield. They are not to be taken lightly though because they are noticeably improving game by game...
You're not the only one. I have been pleasantly surprised with what he has been able to assemble. I recalled days ago that we would have had our big back if the kid from El Campo had is academic issues together.
Remember this kid, boy could we use him now...
It's the part about the cast I'm concerned about. Casts cause atrophy, so after the cast comes off he will have to take necessary time to strengthen that area or risk repeat of the injury. I hope you're right though.
Our d-line play will pick up once Amir Bloom gets back, until then that line has to step up and play better. Our pass rush and run defense are not where they need to be, but we're three games in so at this point we might not get much better until Bloom gets back.
Our o-line is much better than...
