Yo, I'm not really pleased. I appreciate the fight we had but I see another mediocre team. My expectations were high b/c Dishman had a good showing as a first year coach, we got new facilities, Houston and the campus is improving which is great for recruits, and our QB KJ Cooper was back. I was expecting for a run to Atlanta to be honest with you but I don't see it.
1) The defense was chaotic and a mess. PV basically had their way with our defense and beat themselves to me when they didn't. PV should've lost but we made them win.
2) The offense didn't look good to me either. They looked undersized to me. Yeah they may have had speed against a questionable PV team but no this is not a championship quality offense right now. Our wide receivers were rarely able to break away to get free. Every catch we had was contested ... almost every one I remember! However PV many wide open catches from my memory.
3) Coach Dishman showed no emotion the whole game. I don't know how I feel about that. I mean I was wanting him to do something to get them fired up but only the assistant coaches were doing it. I believe in remaining calm under pressure but in a high stakes football game ... some emotion I felt was warranted.
The true winners Saturday were The Ocean of Soul and the fans. We once again outnumbered PV fans and were LOUD which I expected. We will have an even bigger and louder fanbase when we have a great product on the field and this year I don't think is that year. One thing about a party school like TSU is that our fans are always looking for a good time ... a championship quality football team is a good time ... I'm over just being competitive and struggling to reach .500
At the end of the day, I will always support my Tigers, I will watch and attend every game I can. One year we gon get it all the way together ... I just hope i"m alive to see it LOL
