STILLWATER, Okla. - Aaliyah Henderson had a solid homecoming as TSU's leading scorer as the women's basketball team fell 87-57 at Oklahoma State on Monday night.
Three turnovers and 1-of-4 shooting within the first four minutes hampered TSU's efforts to establish its rhythm while the Cowgirls started redhot on 6-of-7 shooting en route to an early 14-2 lead. Aaliyah Henderson's tip-in off her own offensive rebound ended the TSU scoring drought but OSU never cooled off as they shot 73 percent in the quarter to claim a 33-11 lead.
The closest TSU would get to within OSU was 16 on several occasions as the game progressed but the first quarter hole was too high to dig out of unfortunately despite the Tigers holding the Cowgirls to a combined 10 field goals in the second and third quarters.
A native of Norman, Okla., Henderson led TSU with 12 points while Courtlyn Loudermill and Jaida Belton had 11 and 10 points, respectively. Belton had her first double-double of 2024-25 with 10 rebounds.
TSU is finally off the road and will have time to rest and recuperate as they'll have its home opener next Thursday at 4p.m. against Texas A&M-Commerce inside the H&PE Arena.
