History
Two quick goals in less than a minute during the first half was all TSU needed as they continued their winning ways following a 3-0 win over Alabama State on Sunday.
TSU wasted no time in setting the tone to open the match as defender Kaia Butler stole the ball and found Liliane Clase Baez up the field. Baez would push the ball as it eventually found its way towards Isabella Dillow. Dillow fired the ball past the ASU goalie as the ball hit the side bar and ricocheted off the goalie for the 1-0 lead. Before TSU could catch its breath, the defense made another big play and Jaycelyn Russ ran to the ball and slipped it past the goalie for a 2-0 lead 17 seconds later.
Five minutes into the second half, Victoria Pucci had a cross pass which Dillow headed towards the goalie. Once again, the goalie couldn't sustain her grip on the ball as Dillow upped the margin to 3-0 as TSU would go on to win its fourth straight and remain atop the SWAC standings with three matches left.
TSU is back in action next Friday at 5 p.m. at Arkansas-Pine Bluff.
