BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Texas Southern University men’s and women’s golf teams enter their final tournament for the season at the PGA Works Collegiate Championship.

The women’s golf team became back-to-back champions and claimed their third conference title in program history at the 2023 Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Golf Championship.

Sophomore Dili Sitanonth was the Women’s Golf Tournament Low-Medalist and also earned All-SWAC First Team Honors after posting a total of 228 (75-75-78). Junior Ashlie Hobbs placed second following her 2-over final round with a 229 (78-77-74) total. Junior Lyla Vaughn (86-77-79) and sophomore Miness Siame (79-79-84) received All SWAC Second Team Honors for their T-10th finish on 242.

The men’s golf team finished in 4th place at the SWAC Golf Championship.

Sophomore Joel Sullivan was the top scorer for the Tigers with his 4th-place finish and earned All SWAC Medalist First Team Honors with his 3-over 219 (72-72-75). Sophomore Kci Lindskog received All-SWAC Medalist Second Team Honors with his tied 8th-place finish after posting a 222 (75-74-73). Senior Devansh Chadha finished tied for 14th on 225 (76-74-75). Freshman Owen Walsh (75-75-80) and sophomore Caden Holmes (73-78-79) both tied T24 on a 230 total.

The PGA Works Collegiate Championship will be hosted at Shoal Creek Club and Brent Brook Golf Course in Birmingham, Alabama. The Tigers had two practice rounds on Saturday and Sunday, followed by 54 holes of competition Monday through Wednesday as they alternate between the two courses.
