Lady Tigers Fall in Straight Sets to Abilene Christian

BEAUMONT, Texas
— Texas Southern Volleyball dropped a hard-fought match to Abilene Christian in straight sets (25–20, 25–17, 26–24) Friday afternoon at McDonald Gym.

The Lady Tigers showed resilience throughout the match, especially in the third set, where they pushed the Wildcats to extra points before falling 26–24. TSU hit .186 as a team and recorded 7.0 total blocks.

Lauren Battle led the offense with 8 kills, while Gracie Lee added 7 kills. Gracie Hill contributed 5 kills and 2 blocks, and Ava Houston chipped in 6.5 points while hitting .667.

Defensively, Morelia Lorenzo Diaz anchored the back row with 14 digs, and Kennedi Walker and Kourtni Collier combined for 4 block assists. TSU's blocking presence helped slow ACU's attack, which hit .253 overall.

Despite the loss, the Lady Tigers showed improvement in sideout efficiency and transition play, nearly forcing a fourth set with a late rally in the third.

BEAUMONT, Texas — Texas Southern Volleyball pushed Lamar University to the brink Friday afternoon but came up short in a five-set battle (25–21, 18–25, 15–25, 25–19, 15–11) at McDonald Gym.

The Lady Tigers rallied after dropping the opening set, winning the second and third behind a balanced offensive effort. Gracie Hill led TSU with 17.5 points and hit .188 on 48 swings, while Kourtni Collier added 19.5 points and four blocks. Gracie Lee chipped in 12.5 points and hit .242, and Lauren Battle contributed 10 points and 13 digs.

Texas Southern hit .153 as a team and recorded 14.0 total blocks, with Kennedi Walker and Ava Ray combining for 14 digs and 10 block assists. TSU's third set was its most efficient, hitting .419 and holding Lamar to a .000 clip.

Despite a late push in the fifth set, Lamar capitalized on key errors and blocks to seal the match. The Lady Tigers out-blocked the Cardinals 14–10.5 and held a slight edge in digs (89–69), but Lamar's transition offense proved decisive.


Texas Southern Drops Four-Set Match to Cal State Fullerton

BEAUMONT, Texas
— Despite a strong second-set performance, Texas Southern Volleyball fell to Cal State Fullerton in four sets (13–25, 25–16, 14–25, 18–25) Saturday afternoon at McDonald Gym.

The Lady Tigers bounced back in the second frame, hitting .500 as a team and recording 15 kills with just one error. Gracie Hill led TSU with 10.5 points and hit .333 on 21 attempts, while Kourtni Collier added 11.5 points and five kills in the final set. Lauren Battle contributed eight kills and seven digs, and Taryn Stafford chipped in 6.5 points on a .600 hitting percentage.

Texas Southern totaled 51 points, including 13 service aces and 4.0 blocks. Ava Ray paced the offense with 22 assists and added four digs, while Lorenzo Diaz anchored the back row with 11 digs and a .971 reception percentage.
