Box ScoreNACOGDOCHES, Texas – TSU women's basketball dropped its 2024-25 season debut to SFA by an 86-45 margin on Monday evening.
TSU took an early 4-3 lead but SFA went on an 11-0 run to lead 14-4 as TSU shot 0-for-7 from the field during that span. Aylasia Fantroy's two layups cut the gap to 14-8 but SFA closed out the half on a 14-2 run aided by near-perfect shooting to lead 28-10.
TSU would only score a free throw to open the second quarter and didn't connect on a field goal until Courtlyn Loudermill's layup at the 6:10 mark. On the flip side, SFA took advantage with nine points within the first four minutes to extend its lead as they led 50-22 at the half.
SFA's lead at the close of the first half was too much for TSU to overcome as they captured their third straight win over TSU.
Loudermill led TSU with 18 points and finished one rebound short of a double-double with nine. Deivejon Harris finished with eight points and six boards.
TSU is back in action on Thursday at North Texas for a 6 p.m. start.
