BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Ahmad Muhammad won the triple jump and set a personal best at the Samford Invitational as the TSU men's track & field team had nine top-10 marks.
Muhammad continued his strong start to the season as he posted a first-place and personal-best leap of 49-8.25 feet on his third attempt. Braylon Carr (46-2,5) and Babacar Dop (45-0.5) finished fourth and sixth, respectively.
Noah Brooks (49.24), Michael Strange (49.25) and Donell Carter (49.37) finished 6-7-8 in the 400 while the mile relay of Noah Brooks, Michael Strange Jr., Kaseem Ibraheem-Washington and Donell Carter finished fourth (3:16.55).
Trevon Hill threw a distance of 51-6.25 feet to place ninth followed by Blaine Nunn's 10th-place mark of 50-7.5. Hill's throw stands as the best in the SWAC while Nunn ranks third.
TSU is back in action on Saturday at the FasTrak Indoor Invitational at Yeoman Fieldhouse in Houston.
