Prairie View, Texas- In the first quarter, Texas Southern struggled to find their rhythm against Prairie View. Despite several attempts, they couldn't get on the scoreboard until the 5:37 mark when Aylasia Fantroy made two free throws, bringing the score to 8-2 in favor of Prairie View. Prairie View capitalized on Texas Southern's missed shots and turnovers, extending their lead with successful three-pointers and layups. By the end of the quarter, Texas Southern managed to score a few more points through free throws by Fantroy and Deivejon Harris, but Prairie View maintained a solid lead, ending the quarter at 17-6.

In the second quarter, Texas Southern continued to face challenges. Despite their efforts, they struggled to close the gap. Courtlyn Loudermill managed to score a free throw early on, bringing the score to 17-7. However, turnovers and missed shots plagued Texas Southern, allowing Prairie View to extend their lead.
