HOUSTON – Texas Southern women's soccer bounced back in a big way Thursday night at Durley Field, earning their first win of the season with a 2-0 victory over North American University in its second home match.
After dropping their home opener last week, the Lady Tigers came out with purpose, dominating possession and creating chances early. Junior forward Savannah Muldrew opened the scoring in the 23rd minute, capitalizing on a defensive lapse to give TSU the early lead.
Just before halftime, Kamara Bradley doubled the advantage with a stunning 30-yard strike, assisted by Jocelyn Musil, sending the Tigers into the break up 2-0.
"I've hit goals from that far out before," Bradley said. "It was just in the moment — it looked open, so I kicked it, and it went in."
Texas Southern's defense was locked in, allowing just five total shots and zero corner kicks. Goalkeeper Alessandra Bastidas made three saves to preserve the clean sheet.
Head Coach Danesha Adams praised the team's effort but emphasized the need for continued intensity:
"I'm glad we got the dub — we needed it. It's our first win of the season. We have to keep pushing and stay motivated, especially in games like this. I think the intensity could've been a little better, but we'll take this into next week with a little break over the weekend."
TSU will continue non-conference play on Wednesday, September 4, when they travel to Beaumont to face Lamar University at 7 p.m.
