BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Sophomore Alyvia Brown earned top honors as the TSU women's track & field placed fourth at the 2025 SWAC Indoor Championships.
Brown, who was named the SWAC's Track Performer of the Year, set the tone from the opening race as she won the 3,000 on Saturday with a personal-best time of 10:10.49. In the field events, Destinee Payne placed fifth in the long jump with a length of 18-10.5 feet.

A'Keela McMaster (3,292), Shaunece Miller (3,247) and Laci Johnson (2,792) went 2-3-8 in the pentathlon to earn 15 total points and move the women into a second-place tie entering the final day of action on Sunday.

On Sunday, Payne (39-6) and Alexis Wilson (39-5.75) finished 5-6 in the triple jump while Ryann Richards placed third in the pole vault after a personal-best mark of 10-6.25 feet. Ronelle Plaza finished eighth in the shot put after a personal-best mark of 39-9.25 feet while Diamond Barrett (5-1.75) and McMaster (5-1.75) finished fifth and eighth, respectively in the high jump.

Brown won the 5,000 as she dominated the field with a time of 18:15.64 while also finishing second in the mile run after a tight race with a personal-best mark of 4:57.53. Cesley Williams (56.35) and Bayli Gaorge (57.13) placed 5-6 in the 400 while Erica Grant ran a personal-best in the 200 (24.63) for a sixth-place finish.

The mile relay of Destinee Roberts, Williams, Avia Trammell and George placed eighth after a run of 3:50.85.
