RICHARDSON, Texas, April 10, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Texas Optometric Association has designated its new President as Dr. David Frazee of Richardson, Texas. He was inducted on February 20, 2016. Dr. Frazee is honored to serve as the President of the Texas Optometric Association, of which he has also been a member.
The Texas Optometric Association’s mission statement is, "Doctors of Optometry working together to advance excellence in eye care for every Texan." Dr. Frazee looks forward to upholding this goal and ethos during his tenure as Texas Optometric Association President.
Dr. David Frazee is a therapeutic optometrist, optometric glaucoma specialist, and Diplomate, American Board of Optometry. He has an office in Richardson, Texas, and has been in practice since 1982.
Dr. Frazee was born and raised in Texas and received his education and training in the state as well. He received his B.S. in Biology, B.S. in Physiological Optics and Doctor of Optometry degrees from the University of Houston. While completing his optometric curriculum, he also served as a lecturer on Anatomy and Physiology at the Houston Community College. Additionally, he holds an M.S. in Biology from Texas Southern University.
Dr. Frazee opened his own practice in 1982 after three years of working as an optometrist. He now specializes in unique contact lens fittings as well as the treatment of eye infections and diseases. He completed extensive coursework in Ocular Therapeutics at Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 1991 and was certified as a Therapeutic Optometrist by the Texas Optometry Board in 1992.
Dr. Frazee has been a board certified glaucoma specialist since 2000 and was designated Diplomate, American Board of Optometry in 2011. Dr. Frazee continually works to stay informed about the very latest cutting edge and emerging technologies. He also lectures across the state of Texas, emphasizing vision risks related to diabetes.
In addition to his affiliation with the Texas Optometric Association, Dr. Frazee is also a member of the American Optometric Association and was Past President of the Rotary International-Richardson East Rotary and Dallas County Optometric Society. He is also a member of the Richardson Chamber of Commerce.
