Midwestern State University can expect to earn an extra half million dollars annually on its unused operating cash if the Texas Legislature cooperates.
Texas Rep. James Frank and Sen. Craig Estes introduced two bills — House Bill 3353 and Senate Bill 1019 — that would allow MSU, Stephen F. Austin, Texas Southern and the state’s community colleges that hold less than $25 million in operating cash to combine their funds with other institutions to earn a higher investment income.
