Alyvia Brown ran a personal-best 4K time and placed fourth overall while McKenna Duty finished 10th as the TSU women's cross country team placed second at the Rice Invitational on Friday evening.Brown, who set a personal-best time in the season opener at UIW two weeks ago, picked up where she left off with a run of 14:23 (3:36K) for a fourth-place finish. Duty followed with a 10th-place run of 15:20.2 while freshman Katherine Canchola placed 13th after a mark of 15:34.2. Fellow freshman Stacy Guerrero ran a time of 16:08.6 to place 16th, followed by Jessica Williams (16:47.2), Dakota Gaston (18:58.7) and Ruby Rangel (21:50.2)
The team is back in action Oct. 4 at the Chile Pepper Festival in Fayetteville, Ark.
