NACOGDOCHES, Texas – The TSU men's track team had a strong weekend at the Carl Knight Lumberjack Invitational with five first-place finishes.Isaac Henderson won the 100 after running a personal-best 10.42 which ranks eighth in the SWAC. Kaseem Ibraheem-Washington placed second in the 400 (47.89) while Brandon Adolphus finished sixth in the 800. Donyea Jarmon placed first and moved to third in the SWAC in the 110-meter hurdles after a personal-best run of 14.02 while the 4x100-meter relay tandem of Chaunzavia Lewis, Henderson, Christian Jones and William Perry placed second after running a time of 40.65.
Adam Hines' jump of 15-5 feet in the pole vault was good for fourth and the SWAC's top mark. Hilton Smith placed third in the long jump after a mark of 22-10 while Ahmad Muhammad placed fourth (46-11) in the triple jump.
Trevon Hill had a strong weekend with titles in the shot put (56-9.5) and javelin (180-0) as both were personal bests in addition to moving up to second in the SWAC in both categories. Jalen Walker (50-2.75) placed fourth in the shot put and Blaine Nunn followed in fifth (50-1.75). Jaden Brooks' throw of 156-10 was a personal-best and second overall as he also moved up to second in the SWAC. Walker's throw of 196-1 in the hammer was a personal-best and tops in the SWAC by 15 feet. Blaine Nunn moved to third in the SWAC as he threw 168-10 in the hammer as he placed fourth.
Malachi Byrd also recorded a personal-best in the decathlon with 6,494 points with personal bests in the long jump, shot put, 400, discus and pole vault.
TSU is back in action this weekend at the Texas Invitational in Austin.
