•The Texas Southern women’s basketball team will take on SFA on Wednesday inside the H&PE Arena at 7 p.m.
•The last time these two teams faced each other was Nov. of 2022. Texas Southern dropped a 100-63 decision in Nacogdoches, Texas.
•The Ladyjacks lead the all-time series against TSU 4-1, as TSU’s lone win would be on Dec. 2010 in a 64-63 decision. That game would also be the only game played in Houston, Texas.
•The Tigers are coming off a 106-47 loss to the defending National Champions, LSU as Taniya Lawson and Daeja Holmes led TSU with 11 points each.
•SFA fell to UNT on Thursday evening by a score of 78-55 as three ‘Jacks scored in double figures. Kyla Deck led the team with 13 points.
•SFA is led by Kurstyn Harden who averages 16.7 points and 8.0 boards per game.
•The Tigers will have a lot to prove as they were selected to finish 11th in the Preseason SWAC Predicted Order of Finish.
• Texas Southern returns four starters: Taniya Lawson, Jaida Belton, Alisa Knight, and Anela Thomas.
• The Tigers will see a lot of new faces this year as they’ve brought in nine newcomers. However, they’ve lost nine letterwinners and feature a pair of new assistant coaches.
