KOHLER, Wis. – The Texas Southern Women's Golf Team remained tied in sixth place after their 332 round on day two of the PGA Works Collegiate Championship on Tuesday.
The Tigers played the Straits Course, where junior Azul Amezcua was the Tigers' low scorer for the day with her six-over-par 78. Amezcua's round included two birdies, 10 pars, four bogeys, and two doubles.
Graduate student, Alexa Gonzalez, is two strokes back with her eight-over-par round of 80.
The PGA Works Collegiate Championship is hosted at Whistling Straits on the Straits & Irish courses. The Women's Team Division will have 9 competing teams that include Alabama State University, Chicago State University, Howard University, Lincoln University of Missouri, North Carolina A&T State University, North Carolina Central University, Prairie View A&M University, Southern University, and Texas Southern University.
The tournament format includes 54 holes over three days, with the Tigers teeing up for the final round at 8:05 AM on Wednesday on the Irish Course. The event has also been broadcast on Golf Channel daily from 3-6 PM CT.
DAY 1
The Texas Southern Women's Golf Team was tied for sixth after their opening round of 318 at the PGA Works Collegiate Championship Monday.
The Tigers played the Irish Course where junior, Shawnise Gregory led the way for the team following her 3-over-par round of 75. Gregory carded four birdies, eight pars, five bogeys, and one double and is tied in 8th place individually.
Graduate student, Alexa Gonzales is two strokes back on 77 and is tied in 14th place while Ravepon Kosalutta posted a 77, Azul Amezcua and Miness Siame carded a 83 while Kennedi Lee was three strokes back
