The Texas Southern women's track & field team posted eight first-place finishes at the annual 73rd TSU Relays this past weekend inside Durley Stadium.
Freshman Car'De Moore won the 100 in her outdoor debut with a time of 12.03 while Avia Trammell won the 200 (26.08). Alyvia Brown won the 800 in a time of 2:24.32 while Lyriq Ray won the 100-meter hurdles in a time of 14.83.
Diamond Barrett jumped 4-10.5 to win the high jump while Kennedy Brown jumped 38-1.5 to win the triple jump. Ronelle Plaza threw personal bests in the shot put (40-5.5) and hammer (156-6) to claim first-place titles.
Erica Grant (12.28) placed second in the 100 while Tyelor Moore finished second in the 200 after a run of 26.10. Jonae Richardson (1:04.54) finished fourth in the 400 while Dakota Gaston placed fourth in the 800 (2:39.32). Desirae Roberts placed second in the 400 hurdles with a mark of 1:05.49 while Londyn Brown jumped 4-9.85 to place second in the high jump. Destinee Payne (17-8.25), Shaunece Miller (17-0.5), A'Keela McMaster (16-9.25) and Laci Johnson (15-4) went 2-3-4-5 in the long jump.
Kayla Robert-Day (39-9.25) and Rehanna Roberts (36-11.75) went 2-5 in the shot put while Roberts (124-10) and Bria Lawson (124-10) placed 2-3 in the shot put. Roberts (146-3) and Lawson (127-4) placed second and third in the hammer.
TSU is back in action at the Kirk Baptiste Invitational at the University of Houston on Thursday.
