NACOGDOCHES, Texas – TSU women's track & field had four first-place performances at the Carl Knight Lumberjack Invitational.The team performed well in the sprints as Cesley Williams won the 200 after running a personal-best 24.45 as she ranks sixth in the SWAC. Tyeler Moore and Bayli George finished 3-4 after running 24.87 and 24.96, respectively. Car'De Moore (11.84), Erica Grant (12.02) and Avia Trammell (12.16) placed 3-4-6 in the 100 while Alyvia Brown ran a personal and SWAC-best 17:43.02 in the 5,000.
Lyriq Ray won the 100-meter hurdles (15.34) while Desirae Roberts won the 400-meter hurdles as she ranks second In the SWAC (1:02.27). The 4x100-meter relay of Moore, Grant, George and Williams had a blazing weekend after running the SWAC's top mark of 45.58 en route to a second-place finish.
Diamond Barrett placed fifth (5-1) in the long jump followed by Londyn Brown (4-11). Destinee Payne moved to fourth in the SWAC after placing second in the long jump (19-9.75) while Alexis Wilson won the triple jump (39-3). Payne placed second in the same event after a mark of 38-2.75.
Kayla Robert-Day (41-3.75) placed sixth in the shot put while Angela Sanchez finished fifth in the discus (137-2) which moved her to fourth in the SWAC.
A'Keela McMaster and Shaunece Miller now rank 2-3 in the SWAC in the heptathlon after recording scores of 3,617 and 3,499 points.
TSU is back in action this weekend at the Texas Invitational in Austin.
